Blur dealt huge blow to BRITs Best Album chances as new data emerges ahead of ceremony
One of the biggest nights in music will commence tonight as the BRIT awards returns to celebrate the year’s talent.
Among the many categories is Album of the Year, and while the nominees include Blur, J Hus, Little Simz, Raye and Young Fathers, it seems one album is predicted to be the winner by most fans.
Raye has broken records with seven nominations at this year’s BRITs, and one is for her album, My 21st Century Blues, which was released in February last year.
It’s the 26-year-old’s first album since leaving record label Polydor two years before after the company refused to release the album.
According to Gambling.com, the singer-songwriter is the 8/15 favourite to win the best album award.
A spokesperson from the betting company stated: “And if she does, expect a dig at Polydor in her acceptance speech.

“It was a case of third time lucky with singles from the album, as Escapism went to number one after the mediocre success of Hard Out Here and Black Mascara.
“The album debuted at number two, but never got to the top of the album chart, although it did on the UK Independent Chart.”
The awards will take place at the O2 Arena from 8.30pm, with the ceremony being broadcast on ITV.
As well as her never-before-seen seven nominations, Raye is set to perform at the BRIT awards.

Others heading to the stage on the big night include Becky Hill with Chase & Status, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding, Dua Lipa, Jungle, Tate McRae, Rema and Kylie Minogue.
Other awards Raye is up for include Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Act and Best R&B Act.
Having already made history with the nominations, the singer is hoping to win big.
Last years awards saw Harry Styles victorious in four categories thanks to his album Harry’s House.

It could be bad news for Blur fans who are hoping for the band’s album to be recognised if Raye does end up sweeping the awards.
Meanwhile, Swifties have also faced some potential bad news. A pattern noted by Gambling.com suggests Taylor Swift, who’s up for Best International Artist fans could be left heartbroken as the singer may not get a hat-trick BRIT award.
The company’s TV betting analyst Charlie Mullan explained: “Often when an act performs at the ceremony, there is a very good chances they will win an award.
“Kylie Minogue will perform on Saturday night, and the Australian is guaranteed to pick up one award – the Global Icon award. But will she pick up another for Best International Artist?”
