‘People are going to talk’
Alison Hammond has dismissed concerns about her relationship with boyfriend David Putman, insisting their 22-year age difference is nobody else’s business.
The This Morning presenter, 51, has been in a relationship with the 28-year-old Russian model and massage therapist since 2023.
In a new interview, Ms Hammond said: “I’ve got a lovely man in my life. It’s just easy. I think that’s when you know you’ve got something special.
“He just sees me for who I am. We choose each other, every day.”

When questioned about the age gap, she responded firmly: “It’s nothing to do with anyone else. Yeah, people are going to talk. People do. But that’s their business, not mine.”
Ms Hammond has also ruled out walking down the aisle with Mr Putman, revealing the couple see no need for marriage.
“I don’t think [there will be a wedding]. We don’t need to! We’re both cool,” she told The Mirror.
The pair currently live together in London and appear settled in their arrangement.

However, the Great British Bake Off host has previously indicated she wouldn’t reject a proposal outright.
Back in June, she confessed: “We live together, and we’re happy the way it is. I don’t need a ring to show my love to somebody.
“What I will say is, if he asked me tomorrow to marry him, it wouldn’t be a ‘no’. That’s all I’m going to say to you.”
The couple’s romance began in December 2023 when Ms Hammond booked a massage appointment and Mr Putman happened to be her therapist.

They reportedly connected instantly and have been together ever since.
Despite their high-profile status, the pair have largely kept their relationship away from the public eye, with Ms Hammond only occasionally sharing glimpses on social media.
Speaking about her partner previously, Ms Hammond gushed: “He just has the most beautiful energy and everyone feels it when they’re in his presence. It’s very rare. I am so grateful that he chooses to spend his life with me.”
Mr Putman, who works as both a model and massage therapist, is believed to be turning 29 next month.
Ms Hammond has also highlighted what she perceives as a double standard in how society views age-gap relationships.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she explained: “I completely understand why people are interested when there’s a 22-year gap, but what I find interesting is that it’s not as interesting when it’s the man who is older.”
She added: “Why is that? I just want people to be happy for us. We are absolutely in love.”
The television personality has previously noted that Mr Puttnam’s maturity makes their partnership work seamlessly.
She told Good Housekeeping: “I can see how, on paper, you’d notice the age difference. Yes, I’m 22 years older than he is, but if you saw us together, you’d understand. People have said to me, ‘We get it now.'”
