Kaleb Cooper ‘isn’t talking’ to Clarkson’s Farm co-star Jeremy over ‘harebrained schemes’
Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that his Clarkson’s Farm colleague Kaleb Cooper has stopped speaking to him over his most recent agricultural brainwave.
The 66-year-old presenter revealed in his Sunday Times column that he had sown an entire field of flax with the aim of producing linen, only to discover the crop would need to be gathered entirely by hand.
Mr Cooper, 28, was far from impressed. Mr Clarkson wrote: “Kaleb is not talking to me. He says I’ve got to stop coming up with harebrained schemes without thinking them through.”
The young farmer pointed out the impracticality of the plan, with Mr Clarkson adding that Mr Cooper “points out that as there’s no way in hell we will be able to collect everything we grew, the vast majority will just sit there, being s*** on by dogs until it has decomposed.”

INSTAGRAM/KALEB COOPERHarvesting the flax before it began to rot would demand a workforce of roughly 40 people putting in 50-hour weeks, according to Mr Clarkson’s account.
Yet the former motoring presenter remained characteristically undeterred by the logistics.
He mused: “But imagine if we have enough to make an F1 car. How cool would that be? To watch it thundering round the track thinking, I grew that.”
This is hardly the first time Diddly Squat’s ambitious plans have come unstuck. In early August, Mr Clarkson revealed his harvest was already ruined as soaring temperatures during a nationwide heatwave took their toll.

AMAZONJust days before his column about the flax debacle, he had also expressed frustration with his lambs, which had managed to escape from an electric fence enclosure.
Meanwhile, Mr Cooper’s own star continues to rise independently of the Diddly Squat drama.
It was recently confirmed that the farming contractor will front his own programme, titled Kaleb: Down Under, in which he travels to Australia to investigate whether he can take his business international.
Remarkably, the trip will mark Mr Cooper’s first ever flight. He said in a statement: “I spend most of my time with the most travelled man in the world, so I got brave and booked my first ever flight to see what all the fuss was about. Australia here I come!”

INSTAGRAMFazia Khan, Head of Unscripted UK Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, told the Edinburgh TV Festival that the series would show a new side to Mr Cooper, taking him “out of his comfort zone.”
The show is expected to launch early next year.
The latest spat between the pair comes against a more serious backdrop. The fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm, which aired in June, saw the broadcaster reveal he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer and would undergo treatment away from the cameras.
Mr Cooper has since offered reassurance about his co-star’s condition.

“If anything like this happens to any of your friends, and you just said to my best mate, you’ve gotta be supported through that whole journey.”
Mr Cooper described Clarkson as “strong-minded” and stressed the importance of catching health issues early. “Sometimes you’ve gotta go, ‘I’m gonna just have to check and see if I’m okay,'” he added.
Clarkson’s Farm is available to stream on Prime Video.
