‘Wear this scar with pride!’
Fearne Cotton has shared her remarkable recovery progress after undergoing surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jaw, revealing she will “wear this scar with pride”.
The TV presenter and podcast host, 43, took to Instagram on Saturday to document her healing journey just three weeks after the operation.
Cotton posted a series of photos showing the gradual improvement of her surgical scar, which now appears barely visible near her ear.
“The human body is incredible. In less than three weeks you can barely notice where I had the tumour removed,” she wrote to her followers.
The former Radio 1 presenter explained that while her ear remains numb and her face is still tender, she is otherwise “feeling good” about her recovery.
The health update comes amid a challenging period for Cotton, who recently announced her split from husband Jesse Wood after 10 years of marriage.

Cotton shared multiple images showing the healing process, warning followers: “Only swipe if you want to see the gradual stages of healing. It’s not massively gruesome but it certainly looks worse than photo number 1.”
The presenter expressed gratitude for her medical team, particularly highlighting Professor Oflynn who “made me feel extremely calm”.
She also praised the hospital staff, singling out Nurse Jackie who was “especially amazing” for telling her to “get off my phone and nap”.
“I found the whole process fascinating and feel very grateful that the operation went well and that the tumour was benign,” Cotton wrote.
The Happy Place podcast host concluded her update with a reflective note: “Feeling grateful that I’m healing well and will always wear this scar with pride. A reminder to slow down and look after myself.”
Cotton initially revealed her diagnosis earlier this month, explaining she had discovered a lump under her ear on her jawline that had begun growing this year shortly after her friend Davina McCall’s own health battle with a brain tumour.
McCall, 57, underwent surgery in November to remove a colloid cyst, a rare type of benign brain tumour and after Cotton’s latest update, the former Big Brother host was keen to show her support for the star with a sweet gesture.
“Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy,” McCall penned alongside a series of love heart and plaster emojis before she signed off: “Love u.” (sic)
Cotton previously praised McCall as “not only a bloody good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff.”
Cotton urged her followers to seek medical attention if they notice anything unusual: “If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked.”
Elsewhere, Cotton recently announced her separation from Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, after a decade of marriage.
In a statement shared on Instagram, she wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been and always will be our children.”
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The couple share two children – Rex, 11, and Honey, eight – while Cotton is also stepmother to Wood’s children Arthur, 21, and Lola, 18, from his previous marriage.
Breaking her silence on the split on Caroline Hirons’ podcast, Cotton spoke about the pressures women face.
“There is a lot of pressure for women to prove ourselves, that we can run businesses. But if we are honest, the pressure is immense,” she said.
The couple had reportedly faced challenges for several years, with Cotton previously admitting their marriage had been “suffering” as far back as 2019.
