Former BBC EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas shares emotional post announcing baby news: ‘Greatest role yet’
Former EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas and his wife Karina Hind have revealed they are set to welcome their first child together, with the baby due in 2027.
The 37-year-old, best known for portraying Anthony Moon in the BBC soap, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the joyful news with fans.
In a touching video posted to the platform, Hind can be seen sliding her hand down her husband’s arm before clasping his hand as he holds a pair of white baby booties on his fingers.
The couple then hold up their baby scan photograph to the camera.
The pair described the pregnancy as something they had longed for, with Lapinskas writing: “After a long time hoping, dreaming and wishing for this moment, our little miracle is finally on the way.”
He captioned the announcement: “Our greatest role yet… coming 2027,” adding that the couple felt “incredibly blessed to be stepping into our new roles as mum and dad.”
Lapinskas went on to say: “Life has always been an adventure, but this next chapter is one we’ve dreamed of more than anything. We can’t wait to meet you, little one.”
The actor signed off by declaring: “The Lapinskas family is growing by one. Our next role begins in 2027.”

The emotional message made clear the couple had waited a considerable time for this moment, with Lapinskas referring to the unborn child as a “little miracle” and expressing that their “hearts are completely full.”
Fellow stars were quick to celebrate the news, with Tony Discipline — who played Lapinskas’s on-screen brother Tyler Moon on EastEnders — commenting: “Amazing news.”
Singer-songwriter Antony Costa also sent his congratulations, while former X Factor contestant Amelia Lily, 31, wrote: “Congratulations guys! So so happy for you both.”
Lapinskas and Hind became engaged during a holiday in Dubai in 2024, where the actor produced a love letter before getting down on one knee.

They tied the knot in May 2025 at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire.
Ahead of their wedding, Lapinskas paid tribute to his bride-to-be on social media, writing: “Tomorrow I get to marry my best friend!
“My past my present and my future, I will be so proud to say ‘I do’ you have taught me what love truly is.”
Lapinskas appeared on EastEnders from 2011 to 2012, when his contract was not renewed. He has since spoken about the experience, recalling how executive producer Lorraine Newman informed him of the decision: “I was like, ‘Oh. Ok.'”
Following his departure from Albert Square, he competed on ITV’s Dancing On Ice, finishing as runner-up alongside professional partner Brianne Delcourt.
He went on to appear in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks and featured in films including Dead Ringer and The Seven.
Hind has built her career on the stage, with West End credits that include Matilda The Musical and Mamma Mia!.
Both actors have continued to work steadily in the entertainment industry since first meeting.
