She praised the Wellington Hospital team for providing “incredible” care during this difficult period.
Ms Waissel’s primary motivation remains getting well enough to return home to her seven-year-old son Hudson, whom she shares with former partner Andy Speer, a personal trainer.
The health crisis began when she was initially rushed to the private St John + St Elizabeth’s Hospital in London on June 19 with severe bacterial pneumonia.
Reflecting on the experience, the singer-songwriter revealed she was “far closer to the edge than I realised” and described it as “one of the most frightening and excruciatingly painful experiences of my life.”

In a separate post on Thursday, she admitted: “I’m still a little bit in shock, if I’m honest, coming to terms with just how close I came to not being here anymore.”
In an attempt to look towards the future, Ms Waissel announced her intention to compile a proper bucket list and begin ticking off experiences.
She told followers: “It’s made me realise there are still so many things I want to see, do, learn and experience, and that perhaps ‘one day’ isn’t a date we should rely on.”
The singer asked her audience for suggestions on activities “everyone should do at least once in their lifetime.”

It didn’t take long for fans of the singer to rush to the comments of the X posts to send their well-wishes.
“I pray it is minor and you fully recover quickly! I also pray that you can go back home soon,” one fan typed.
Meanwhile, a second shared their own experiences: “Get well soon, Katie. My friend’s son said that. It wasn’t pleasant and takes time to recover.”
“Hang in there, Katie. I’ve been there and had to spend 10 days in isolation in hospital due to a bacterial infection. Things will get better even if it doesn’t seem so now. You’ve got this,” a third added.
And a fourth reached out: “Oh honey. I’m sending you so much love. I hope you’re okay and you recover soon.” (sic)
