GB News star Emily Carver forced into emergency hospital visit after engagement ring holiday nightmare

Emily Carver has revealed an unexpected end to her family holiday after an emergency trip to hospital in France when her engagement ring snapped while still on her finger.

The GB News presenter documented the ordeal in a series of Instagram Stories as she prepared to return to the UK following a sun-soaked break in Provence with husband Patrick Christys, their young son George and both sets of grandparents.

Emily first shared a close-up of her swollen ring finger, showing her engagement ring bent out of shape around it.

“Nice way to finish the holiday…” she wrote alongside the image, adding a crying emoji.

In a follow-up post, the broadcaster revealed the damage was severe enough to require emergency medical attention.

Sharing a photograph of the ring after it had been cut from her finger, she explained: “Quick 5am trip to French A&E before flying home…” followed by another crying emoji.

The image showed the gold band split into two pieces after being removed.

Fortunately, Emily later reassured followers that the situation had been resolved, posting another photograph of her hand after the ring had been taken off.

“Much better!” she wrote, with the swelling around her finger appearing to have eased.

The health scare came just hours after Patrick shared photographs from the family’s idyllic getaway in Gordes, Provence.

Posting a carousel of holiday snaps to Instagram, the GB News presenter wrote: “Views, food and laughs in Provence! An amazing couple of weeks with @carveremily, little George and both sets of grandparents! Feeling very blessed.”

The collection of photographs showed the family enjoying scenic walks through the picturesque French village, sampling local cuisine and spending quality time together with baby George.
