GB News stars left in stitches as Patrick Christys’ parenting trick leaves presenter sporting painful battle scar

Patrick Christys has left colleagues and fans in hysterics after revealing the unexpected consequence of trying to entertain his 10-month-old son, George.

The broadcaster shared two selfies on X on Tuesday evening after discovering that a simple parenting game had left him with a bright red mark in the middle of his forehead ahead of presenting his GB News programme.

The People’s Channel presenter explained that he had been amusing baby George by sticking a green suction-cup toy to his forehead before repeatedly pulling it off.

“I realised I could make my 10-month-old son laugh if I stuck that green toy to my head and then ripped it off,” he wrote.

“Did it solidly for about five minutes… then I looked in the mirror.”

The presenter admitted the resulting mark was probably a small price to pay for hearing his son giggle.

“Probably worth it for the giggles but I’m going to have to lay the make-up on thick tonight on @GBNEWS,” he joked.

Alongside the post, Patrick shared one photo of the small green toy responsible for the mishap and another showing a large circular red mark in the centre of his forehead.

The light-hearted post quickly attracted plenty of attention from his GB News colleagues, who couldn’t resist joining in.

Fellow presenter Tom Harwood quipped: “Excellent parenting tbh.”

Political editor Cameron Walker simply replied with two laughing emojis, while GB News presenter Ben Leo responded: “Hahaha.”

GB News contributor Adam Brooks appeared particularly amused, replying with a string of laughing emojis.

Fans were equally entertained by the presenter’s parenting blunder.

“100% worth it!” one follower commented.

Another joked: “Thought you’d been headbutting the wall after finding out who the new Defence Secretary is.”

“Ah good on you, Patrick,” another penned.

“So cute tho,” someone else added.

The amusing family moment is the latest glimpse Patrick has shared into life with baby George, whom he welcomed with fellow GB News presenter Emily Carver in September last year.

The couple, who married in 2024, have regularly delighted viewers with updates on their son since becoming parents.

Last month, they melted hearts by sharing photographs from George’s christening, with Patrick posting a collection of family snaps from the church ceremony.

Earlier this year, the pair also documented George’s first holiday abroad, whisking the youngster off to the Maldives, while Emily previously shared an adorable picture of the infant watching her present Britain’s Newsroom from home.
