Holly Willoughby’s daughter was left cringing at her mother’s efforts to get to grips with YouTube jargon as the former This Morning presenter promoted her new online venture.
The 45-year-old appeared on BBC Radio 2 with Sara Cox earlier today to discuss Together, her first major broadcasting project since departing the ITV daytime show in 2023.
Recounting her daughter’s reaction, Ms Willoughby said: “Well my daughter was laughing at me as I was saying, ‘and subscribe and ding the bell and you’ll get notifications.’
“She was like, ‘mum you really don’t know what you’re talking about’ and I was like, ‘no but I’m learning!'”

The presenter revealed that her three children: Harry, 17, Belle, 15, and Chester, 11, were the driving force behind her decision to move into the online space.
After stepping away from This Morning, she spent considerably more time at home and noticed how her youngsters consumed media.
“I had a bit of time off and watching them, and they’d go to Netflix, Disney or Amazon and they’ll be watching YouTube.

She also admitted to bombarding her daughter with amusing clips. “My daughter is like, ‘Stop sending me cat videos!’ I can’t help it, it makes me laugh.”
The programme is being made by Hungry Bear Media, the production company run by Ms Willoughby’s husband Dan Baldwin.
Explaining the decision to keep things in the family, she said: “I had this idea and I thought who better to make it and who do I trust more.

“Hungry Bear make brilliant shows and I just thought it was a perfect fit, it was a no brainer really.”
Together will feature a roster of well-known guests, with Stanley Tucci, Nicole Appleton, Katherine Ryan, Emma Bunton, Rob Beckett and Joanne McNally all set to appear.
Describing the format, Ms Willoughby said: “I have a glass of wine, sit and cook a really nice meal and just have a laugh.
“I think laughter really is the best medicine. It’s the most important thing. You can diffuse any situation.”

Ms Willoughby departed This Morning after 14 years on the programme following the fallout from co-presenter Phillip Schofield’s affair with a younger colleague.
She subsequently became the intended victim in a horrifying kidnap and murder plot.
Reflecting on that period, she said: “Obviously everybody knew what happened and it was a difficult time.
“Everybody in their own way goes through something. I needed a bit of time out, just to come to terms with everything.
“I needed a little space and time with family and my friends, just to be away from work.”
The presenter credited her family with helping her emerge from the ordeal.
“Life moves on, and I’m a mum, and I have my kids, and my husband, and all the important stuff in life,” she said.
“If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s don’t look too far into the future.
“It’s just day by day. Let’s just see what happens. I’m now doing this with my husband, and this feels like the right time to be doing this.”
