Dick and Angel Strawbridge deliver huge podcast update after two-year break as pair tease big change

Fans have been without new episodes since December 2024, when the Strawbridges delivered a Christmas special from their French abode.

Now, ahead of the surprise return of Escape to the Chateau on screens, the pair have confirmed to GB News that the podcast, produced by Global, is also on its way.

When asked if the podcast was making a comeback, Angel unequivocally replied: “It’s happening.”

Dick then weighed in: “It was a date for us. We used to have a date upstairs, six floors up in the observatoire.

“And the two of us would have a date, turn the things on, and have a chat.”

Angel interjected to explain why new episodes had been put on the back burner for so long.

“What’s going on is we started putting it out there that it’s coming back, but we had such a big project that we got absolutely absorbed into,” she revealed.

“It’s all in season 11, but basically, we had to do a new honeymoon suite for a wedding that we had in June.

“It literally took every ounce of our juice up until the summer. And then we have had a break, which we’re on now for the summer holiday.

“But the big thing, because we absolutely love Global, but our demographic-” Angel continued, before Dick intervened: “They want to see us!”

Angel chipped back in: “We put a clip on social media, and nearly every comment was, ‘Where can I watch it?’ So, we’re doing them both now.

“It’s gonna start in September. We already filmed a bit of a pre-title to it. And we’re going to be back in there doing it, probably biweekly to start with, just because we’ve got lots going on.

“But we’re back in there, and it’s going to have different production values.”

Hammering home the hectic nature of running the chateau while juggling their media duties, Dick added: “It seems so much changes, doesn’t it? Things change.

“Arthur’s taller than me now. And Dorothy is a young lady, and that change has taken place very, very quickly.

“Plus, every week, something happens in our world, and it’s just amazing. You just can’t write the script off it.”

The Strawbridges stopped short of revealing an exact release date, but the update will undoubtedly be welcome news for fans of the duo.

The pair had previously confirmed the podcast’s return in January. “Hello to you this Wonderful Wednesday,” the pair shared on January 21.

“After a little break from the world of podcasting, we’re back in the ‘Chateau Studio’ tomorrow. Recording and filming our brand-new podcast! Yes, that’s right…you wanted to see more of us (?!), so we are now filming the full episode!!

“We can’t lie…it honestly feels like having a date with each other and with you.
