Chris Brandon has issued an ominous warning about the future of the hit ITV thriller Trigger Point, declaring that “no one’s safe” as the drama prepares to raise the stakes once again.
The Vicky McClure-led series follows Metropolitan Police bomb disposal expert Lana Washington and her team as they tackle deadly threats across the capital.
Speaking at a screening attended by GB News, Mr Brandon teased what viewers can expect as the explosive drama continues, warning that the danger will only intensify.
Asked directly whether anyone is safe, the writer responded: “No one’s safe. Literally not. No one.”

He added: “But we tighten the screw. Every episode is about tightening the screw until it… has to break at some point. So, yeah, it’s great fun.”
Director Jenny Darnell was similarly coy when pressed on what lies ahead, but promised there would be no shortage of major incidents.
“You can’t have an episode without an event holding the audience,” she explained.
“So, each episode, you will find something happening. And we’ve got some exciting characters turning up and different events.”

Ms McClure, 43, who also serves as an executive producer on the drama, suggested the scale of what is coming makes the action audiences have already seen look relatively small.
Discussing one elaborate sequence involving Lana and a lorry, she said: “That’s a small version of what’s to come.”
She added: “Chris and the team have really gone for it.”
Eric Shango, who has played explosives officer Danny since Trigger Point began in 2022, was equally enthusiastic about the show’s increased scale.
Trigger Point season 4 is set to be released in September | GETTYAfter watching some of the new episodes, the actor said he immediately felt the production had gone “up by like 10 notches”.
He explained: “Whether it be performance, whether it be visual, atmospheric, everything had just gone up 10 X.”
Mr Shango added he felt “proud” of what the team had accomplished and admitted he was almost jealous he could not experience the episodes for the first time as an ordinary viewer.
The ambitious production saw series three and four filmed back-to-back over nine months, something Ms McClure credited with creating an unusually close atmosphere among the cast and crew.
The Line of Duty star said the extended shoot allowed the team to “settle in” and enjoy the experience, describing that kind of stability in the television industry as “rare”.
Despite the gruelling physical demands of playing Lana, Ms McClure made clear she remains open to returning for even more Trigger Point.
Asked whether the fourth series could be followed by another instalment, Mr Brandon responded: “Never say never.”
Ms McClure agreed the show’s future ultimately lies with those watching at home.
