Liam Gallagher emphatically rules out Oasis Glastonbury 2027 performance with foul-mouthed outburst

Liam Gallagher has dismissed the prospect of Oasis topping the bill at Glastonbury next year, despite the reunited Manchester group sitting among the leading contenders with bookmakers.

Responding to an Oasis fan account on X that had highlighted the band’s 4/1 odds, the frontman made it crystal clear where he stands on the subject.

“It’s not happening so all you croc wearing flag waving s**t c***s can calm the f*** down,” he typed. (sic)

Mr Gallagher doubled down on his less-than-favourable opinions of Glastonbury attendees, using a second tweet to criticise the festival’s clientele.

When asked what he’d “dreamed about” last night, Mr Gallagher hit out: “I had a dream we was playing at Glastonbury and the croc brigade stormed the stage and started whipping me to death with there flags took me ages to get settled NIGHTMARE.” (sic)

The outburst came as bookmakers everywhere continued to tip Oasis as headliners alongside the likes of Sam Fender and Harry Styles.

Festival organiser Emily Eavis had already fuelled the rumour mill earlier this month when she confirmed that all three headline acts for 2027 have been locked in.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme on August 14, she ruled out one major name: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that.”

She added: “But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it. It’s all coming together really well.”

Madonna had appeared to tease a Worthy Farm appearance after telling Graham Norton in June that she had “something big” in the pipeline for the UK in 2027.

When pressed on whether Taylor Swift was among the confirmed acts, Ms Eavis laughed but declined to elaborate, remarking that “pretty much 95 per cent of the stories you read are not true.”

While Oasis appear unlikely to grace the Pyramid Stage, signs point towards significant alternative plans.

At the start of August, SJM Concerts – the promoters who orchestrated the band’s blockbuster 2025 reunion tour – obtained a premises licence for Knebworth House from North Hertfordshire Council.

The licence, granted on August 1, has no expiry date and permits events with crowds of up to 125,000, with live music running as late as 3am.

Media reports have suggested the Gallagher brothers could play six nights at the Hertfordshire estate, alongside a 12-night residency at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

While Oasis have not officially confirmed any dates, the band has notably declined to deny reports that a fresh tour announcement is imminent.

Mr Gallagher himself has hinted at ambitious touring plans beyond Glastonbury, describing the band’s intentions on X as “the opposite of a farewell tour it’s more like who f***ing wants kinda of a tour.”

Glastonbury is set to welcome festivalgoers back to Worthy Farm from June 23-28, 2027, following a fallow year in 2026 designed to let the Somerset farmland recuperate.

The 2025 edition featured headline sets from The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, with Rod Stewart taking the coveted teatime legends slot.
