Liam Gallagher’s ex-wife Patsy Kensit reveals she was left ‘skint’ as Emmerdale star ‘lost everything’

Patsy Kensit has spoken about being left “skint” after a disastrous corporate investment wiped out her finances roughly a decade ago.

The 58-year-old actress, who is set to reprise her role as Sadie King on Emmerdale later this year, made the admission during an appearance on Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast.

“I had my pensions and everything and I was very vigilant about all of that,” she said.

“Then I entered into a corporate thing and I lost, this is 10 years ago, I lost everything.

“I lost my home. And so I’m having to start from scratch. But, I’m a survivor, always have been.”

Ms Kensit first found fame as a child star before building a distinguished career across film and television, starring alongside Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 2.

At the peak of her success, she was married to Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, and the couple resided in a mansion in Primrose Hill.

Yet, despite decades in the entertainment industry, a single ill-judged investment approximately ten years ago left her financially devastated.

“You just take each day at a time and I do that with regards to my work and the mammoth amount of scripts that I’m learning,” she told Ms McCall.

“I try to just keep it in the day. Tomorrow, who knows?”

The podcast interview comes as Ms Kensit gears up for a dramatic return to the ITV soap two decades after her original stint, which ran from 2004 to 2006.

She revealed during the conversation that she has already spent two months back on set filming new episodes.

The actress confirmed her comeback will be a six-month engagement.

“I’m only back for six months but the storylines are fantastic, it’s written really well,” she said.

“It’s a hell of a ride, and I’m right in the middle of it at the moment.”

Viewers can expect to see Sadie King back on screen later this year.

During her first spell on the programme, Sadie King became embroiled in romantic entanglements with Cain Dingle, Robert Sugden, and her brother-in-law Matthew King.

Although the specifics of her new storyline are being kept secret, it has been confirmed that Sadie will find herself at odds with Kim Tate, portrayed by Claire King.

Ms Kensit spoke warmly about her experience returning to the Yorkshire-based production.

“Everyone has been so gorgeous to me, going back,” she said.

“To go back and have cast members that have stayed on the show, or had left and have gone back, just to see them again… There’s a real truth about the Yorkshire welcome, and that is something I’ve had in spades going back on the show.”
