Kelsey Grammer has confirmed he is hoping to become a father for the ninth time at the age of 71, having already welcomed eight children over the course of four decades.
The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor, celebrated for his portrayal of Dr Frasier Crane, made the revelation on Monday.
“It is true,” Mr Grammer LBC’s Nick Ferrari at Breakfast when pressed about rumours of another addition to his family.
His youngest child, son Christopher, will not even celebrate his first birthday until October, yet the star indicated he and wife Kayte Walsh are keen to expand their brood further.

Mr Grammer spoke warmly about the joys of fatherhood, describing children as among life’s greatest blessings. “Even from the moment of birth, there’s six people in a room, and suddenly there’s seven people in a room. And everybody’s arms are open and saying, ‘Welcome!'” he said.
The actor stressed that he now has both “the wherewithal and the desire to make it a good world for them.”
He also reflected on how his approach to parenting has evolved, telling Mr Ferrari he is now a “far more available dad” who spends real time alongside his younger children.
However, he acknowledged some regret about not being more present for his older offspring whilst pursuing his career.

“When you’re a young man, sort of trying to fight your own battle and achieve your own goals, it’s limited how much time you can spend with the kids,” he admitted.
Mr Grammer’s journey as a father began in 1983 with the arrival of daughter Spencer, whom he shares with first wife Doreen Alderman.
His second daughter, Greer, followed in 1992 with then-girlfriend Barrie Buckner.
He went on to have two children: Mason, now 24, and Jude, 21, with his third wife, Camille Grammer, known for her appearances on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“How selfish,” a different X user wrote.
Several critics suggested the 71-year-old should find alternative ways to spend his time, with one quipping: “Why doesn’t he just get a motorbike.”
Not everyone was opposed, however.
One penned: “Why not! He has the means to care for the child and has a younger wife.”
