The Inbetweeners fans issue urgent plea as Netflix CONFIRMS comeback for original trio: ‘Don’t make it MODERN!’
Netflix has officially greenlit The Inbetweeners 3, with filming now underway in the United Kingdom.
The streaming giant made the announcement on Monday morning, bringing to an end months of speculation surrounding the beloved British comedy franchise’s revival.
All four original leads – Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas – are confirmed to be back as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland, and Simon Cooper, respectively.
The new film marks their first appearance in these roles in over 15 years.

Netflix described the project as a continuation of the hugely popular sitcom and its two record-breaking big-screen flicks.
Alongside the announcement, Netflix released a 40-second teaser clip offering fans their first glimpse of the cast back in character.
The footage shows the four actors clambering into the franchise’s iconic battered yellow 1996 Fiat Cinquecento Hawaii edition – the same vehicle Simon’s parents gifted him after passing his driving test in series one.
In typical fashion, Simon struggles to breathe life into the old banger. The clip concludes with a shot of the number “3” scrawled into the grime on the car’s rear window, accompanied by confirmation that the film is now in production.

Within moments of the trailer’s release, social media was flooded with excited reactions from fans. However, many were also quick to warn Netflix against making too many creative changes given the decade and a half it’s been since the TV series ended.
“I hope it’s the same comedy that worked, rather than making it ‘modern’,” one Instagram user penned. “The new Frasier series was awful because they changed what worked to ‘modern’ comedy, amongst lots of other things that have comebacks.”
“Hope it’s like the actual Inbetweeners. No modern bs,” a second echoed, while a third also pleaded: “PLEASE keep it the same as it always was.”
Elsewhere, a fourth weighed in: “I hope that it’s the Inbetweeners that worked, was funny & became a generational hit for many years. If they try to change or modernise it, then it won’t work & that will ruin its legacy, which the reunion show already had a good attempt at doing.”

“The best news all year,” a fifth celebrated while a sixth commented: “Iconic!!!!!!!!!! please please keep it the same xxxx.” (sic)
Franchise creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris are back at the helm, both writing and directing the reunion film.
“It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans,” the pair said.
Claire Jones is producing the picture alongside Banijay’s Patrick Holland and Fudge Park Production’s Mark Lesbirel.

The executive producer roster includes Caroline Levy, Caroline Leddy, Phil Gilbert, Suzanne Knight, Tom Jordan, Farhana Bhula, as well as Beesley and Morris themselves.
The original series aired on Channel 4 across three series between 2008 and 2010, charting the hapless exploits of McKenzie and his mates at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive as they stumbled through adolescence, friendships and romantic failures.
The show shattered ratings records for the broadcaster and picked up multiple awards during its run.
Two Film4-backed feature films followed in 2011 and 2014, with the first claiming the record for the largest opening weekend ever achieved by a British comedy. Its sequel went on to break box office records of its own.
