John Torode shares heartbreaking Lisa Faulkner cancer update after turbulent MasterChef exit: ‘Changed everything’
John Torode has spoken out about how his wife Lisa Faulkner’s breast cancer diagnosis has “changed absolutely everything”.
The 54-year-old actress and television cook revealed her diagnosis in July, disclosing she had already undergone surgery for early-stage breast cancer and would be proceeding with radiotherapy.
The couple have faced a difficult period, with Mr Torode losing his long-standing MasterChef role and their ITV show John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen reportedly facing the axe.
Despite these setbacks, Mr Torode made clear his wife’s health eclipses all other concerns.

GETTYSpeaking to The Times, the chef reflected on the upheaval the couple have faced.
“Life changes, doesn’t it?” he said.
“When doors close, something else opens up. It takes time; grieving takes time, but it has got to be about your positive attitude.”
He added: “But the most important thing to me is health and being with my wife, Lisa, and if I have that, everything else pales into insignificance.”

Ms Faulkner herself offered an equally striking account of how the diagnosis had reshaped her outlook.
“Cancer comes along and knocks you again, and you suddenly realise that none of the other stuff matters,” she told the newspaper.
“It feels like you are suddenly in a film of your life. Your life is stark. You suddenly realise what is important and the rest goes out of the window.”
When Ms Faulkner broke the news to her followers on Instagram Stories in July, she explained her absence from social media had been due to the operation.

“I had surgery two weeks ago; it was quite a big op, but it’s all good, and I’ve got my results back, and they’ve got everything out,” she wrote.
The former EastEnders star confirmed she had been given the all clear and would need radiotherapy in the coming weeks.
She used the moment to deliver an urgent message to other women.
“I just wanted to say don’t put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn’t have been picked up,” she wrote.
The actress expressed deep gratitude towards the NHS for providing accessible mammograms and early treatment, and thanked fans whose messages of support had “really touched” her.
The health battle represents the latest in a series of difficult blows for the couple.

Mr Torode was dropped from MasterChef after an allegation he used racist language was upheld as part of an investigation into the programme.
But the chef said he had “no recollection” of the alleged incident.
