Brooklyn Beckham accused of abandoning British roots as fans outraged by latest update: ‘You’re English!’
Brooklyn Beckham has come under fire from some fans for using Americanisms in his social media videos.
The London-born aspiring chef, 27, often shares clips on Instagram of himself cooking, but his latest one proved distracting to some.
The latest clip saw him instructing those trying his recipe to “cut the eggplant,” which is known in the UK as an aubergine.
The dialogue prompted some to point out he isn’t from the US, telling the oldest child of British icons David and Victoria Beckham “you’re English, it’s an aubergine.”

Another penned: “He said tomato, not tomayto. He was still in the US when he said that, by the way.” (sic)
“Also eggplant in Australia. Who cares, as we have lots of different words than Americans and even English,” another commented.
Someone else fumed: “Also known as eggplant. Go touch grass ffs.” (sic)
Another fan told Brooklyn: “I love how you just live your amazing life and dgaf about haters.” (sic)
It’s not the first time fans have picked up on Brooklyn’s changing accent and speech.
He’s lived in the US for about five years with American billionaire heiress wife Nicola Peltz.
The two recently appeared in a video when they attended the Valentino Vendetta launch party in California.

When asked whether they preferred to stay in or go out for a date night, Brooklyn replied: “Staying in because I love to cook.”
They were also asked if they could share a closet, prompting Brooklyn to respond: “If we shared a closet, maybe I would, if I was lucky, have one drawer.”

Meanwhile, the couple’s well-documented estrangement from the Beckham family has deepened in recent months.
Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows in August last year in a ceremony from which his parents were pointedly excluded.
Sources close to the pair have indicated they no longer wish to mark their original April 2022 wedding anniversary, viewing it as an occasion tainted by “bad memories.”
A source told The Sun: “Brooklyn and Nicola’s first wedding in April 2022 is not an occasion they look back on fondly. Nicola ended up in tears. It’s not something they want to be reminded of.”
