Penny Lancaster issues Rod Stewart health update after heart surgery forced rock legend to axe tour
Penny Lancaster has offered a reassuring update on Sir Rod Stewart’s health during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women today.
The 55-year-old model described the 81-year-old rock legend as remarkably active following his recent heart surgery.
Ms Lancaster told the panel her husband remains full of drive and ambition despite pulling out of his US tour last month.
“Well, it was this kind of voracious energy that he had, and he still has at 81,” she said.

Ms Lancaster added Sir Rod is working out three times a week, describing his determination as “incredible to watch” and “so inspiring” for their children.
The “Maggie May” singer announced in August he was cutting short his American tour to recuperate from the procedure.
Shows in Ohio, Illinois and Mexico were scrapped, along with a six-night residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Before the surgery, the veteran performer had already postponed dates in Cincinnati and Cleveland because of medical issues, and a sinus infection had forced him to cancel several appearances in May and June.
Earlier this month, Ms Lancaster moved to reassure the singer’s fanbase, insisting he would “come back stronger than ever” after undergoing a coronary stent procedure.
She explained while her husband had returned to “full speed in his day-to-day activities”, his medical team recommended against continuing the tour “because you know the risk factors involved”.

The couple even had to give doctors a sense of what a typical Sir Rod concert entails.
Ms Lancaster revealed they “did have to explain to the doctor what Sir Rod’s performances are like,” noting he spends close to two hours dashing around the stage with four costume changes, drenched in sweat throughout.
Sir Rod and Ms Lancaster tied the knot in 2007 following an eight-year courtship.
They have two sons together, Alastair, 22, and Aiden, 15.
The rock star has been married twice previously and is father to six other children from earlier relationships.
When he broke the news of his tour cancellation on Instagram in August, Sir Rod expressed his frustration at having to let fans down.
