Lionel Richie, 77, rushed to hospital for third time in three months as health scare prompts more show cancellations
Lionel Richie has been admitted to hospital for the third time in roughly three months as the 77-year-old continues to battle heart problems during his joint tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
The singer, best known for hits such as Hello and All Night Long is currently receiving treatment for atrial fibrillation, a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat.
Doctors are performing an AFib ablation, a minimally invasive procedure that creates small scars in the heart tissue to disrupt faulty electrical signals and restore a normal rhythm.
It is not regarded as a major operation.
The latest health scare has forced the cancellation of three upcoming dates on the Sing a Song All Night Long tour, which Richie has been co-headlining with Earth, Wind & Fire.
