Louis Walsh ‘suffered heart attack’ in ITV Celebrity Big Brother house as star reveals terrifying ordeal
Louis Walsh has disclosed that his doctor suspects he experienced a minor heart attack during his stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2024.
The 74-year-old former X Factor judge made the revelation during an appearance on the 2 Johnnies podcast, explaining that the experience was far from what he had anticipated.
“I thought it was going to be fun. It wasn’t fun,” Mr Walsh said.
“I had anxiety problems and I had to get the medics. My doctor thinks I had a minor heart attack.”

The health scare was never broadcast during the series, which also featured Sharon Osbourne, Nikita Kuzmin and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
The X Factor star went on to express regret about taking part in the reality programme, admitting financial motivation was behind his decision.
“I did it for the money, but I shouldn’t have. Sharon was not in a good place either.

ITV“We were television hookers,” he said.
The former Westlife manager appeared alongside Ms Osbourne in the Celebrity Big Brother house, with the pair, both well known from their years on the X Factor judging panel, featuring in numerous memorable exchanges during the series.
Mr Walsh also confirmed he will not be part of any potential X Factor comeback.
“I won’t be doing it as I am probably too old. The money is good, they pay well, but I don’t think he will ask me,” he said, referring to Simon Cowell.

“I don’t know who they would get. Sharon and Nicole Scherzinger would be good,” he suggested.
The boyband manager also reflected on the nerves he felt during his original tenure on the talent show.
“I was so nervous being on that show as Simon is a big personality and so is Sharon,” Mr Walsh admitted.
Speculation about the talent show’s return intensified earlier this month when the official X Factor Facebook page discreetly switched its profile picture to the 2016-2018 era logo, featuring only the distinctive X, with the words “The” and “Factor” removed.
Reports suggest plans for a reboot have been underway since December, with those involved keeping details tightly under wraps.

ITV formally axed the programme in 2021, having aired it annually from 2004 to 2018.
During its run, the show launched the careers of acts including One Direction, Little Mix and Leona Lewis, though it was also dogged by controversy and declining viewing figures in its later years.
