Only Fools and Horses Reliant Regal up for auction as iconic van could fetch £40,000
Superfans of the classic British TV show Only Fools and Horses could get their hands on the Reliant Regal van used in filming.
Iconic Auctioneers is offering a 1969 Reliant Regal Supervan III used in the filming of Only Fools and Horses at its Classic Sale next month.
The Reliant Regal Supervan III will be offered at no reserve with an estimate of £30,000 to £40,000 at the NEC Classic Motor Show on Sunday, November 15.
A collection of Only Fools and Horses memorabilia will also go under the hammer in Birmingham next month.
The van comes equipped with registration APL 911H, which was used in all 13 episodes across the first two series.
This includes The Russians Are Coming and A Touch of Glass, where Del Boy and Rodney attempt to clean a chandelier.
It also retains its yellow Trotters Independent Trading Co livery and classic “New York, Paris, Peckham” advertising.
The Reliant Regal had spent a long time in a private collection with light restorations before it was purchased by its current owner earlier this year.

The owner is a dedicated fan of Only Fools and Horses and restored a number of details to match how the van looked in the show.
This includes the grey-primer bonnet, hatch, bumpers and wings, and red-painted door interiors.
Several mechanical improvements have also been made, such as a new old-stock carburettor, brake cylinders and battery, as well as fuel system updates.
Gary Dunne, Sales Manager at Iconic Auctioneers, said: “This Reliant is a good reminder that significance is not always measured in performance or panache.
