Tracy Shaw shares heartbreaking cancer update after fourth round of chemotherapy: ‘It’s agony’
Tracy Shaw has shared a candid health update after undergoing her fourth round of chemotherapy, admitting the latest cycle has left her in “agony” as she continues her battle with an aggressive form of breast cancer.
The 53-year-old actress, best known for playing Maxine Peacock on the ITV soap Coronation Street, revealed that the latest treatment had “hit hard” but insisted she was finding strength in focusing on moments of joy and her faith.
Sharing a collection of 13 photographs from recent weeks on Instagram, Ms Shaw posted uplifting images of colourful flowers, bright yellow sunflowers, peaceful sunrises and sunsets, and other snapshots from her day-to-day life.
Alongside the images, she opened up about the physical toll of treatment.

“Phew round 4 hit hard!” she wrote.
“I’ve chose to show the moments of Joy I experience, hoping they bring light to those in the same position.
“Amidst this pain and suffering, I’ve had to dig deep into the constant spiritual growth, to creation and its wonders.”
The actress admitted that although she now knows what to expect before each chemotherapy cycle, it has not made the experience any easier.

“Knowing what’s coming each cycle doesn’t make it easier, but I’m not panicking, definitely trusting the process,” she continued.
“Honestly, it’s agony, but keeping it in the day. Praying a lot for others.
“Grateful to have met others to share this journey with, life sisters.”
Ms Shaw concluded her emotional update by telling followers: “Feeling absolute rubbish at the moment but ‘This too shall pass’. Love and gratitude x.”
The post was quickly flooded with messages of support from fans and fellow cancer patients.
One follower wrote: “I bow down to you. Coming on here sharing your pain to help others. If love could cure you, you’d be better by the weekend.”
Another, who is also undergoing treatment, shared: “I’m just home from chemo 4 today and bracing myself for what’s to come, we can and we will.”
A third commented: “You are so pure and gracious in this journey and you deserve some sense of progress. Keeping it all crossed for you.”

Another supporter praised the actress’s resilience, writing: “Dignity and grace is what you are showing and sharing.”
Ms Shaw announced her diagnosis in April after doctors discovered she had HER2-positive breast cancer.
She has since documented her treatment journey openly, revealing the severe side effects of chemotherapy, multiple trips to A&E due to a weakened immune system and her decision to donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust before it fell out during treatment.

Last month, the actress shared a disappointing setback after ultrasound scans showed her tumours had changed shape but had not reduced in size, meaning surgery was not yet possible
However, she also received some positive news when doctors confirmed separate lumps discovered in her right breast were benign cysts.
