ITV Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent ‘splits’ from footballer fiancé after 10 year relationship

Brooke Vincent and her fiancé Kean Bryan have reportedly ended their relationship after a decade as a couple, according to claims that emerged on Monday.

The 34-year-old actress, renowned for her long-running portrayal of Sophie Webster on Coronation Street between 2004 and 2019, began dating the former footballer, now 29, during the summer of 2016.

The pair became engaged in 2022 and share two sons, Mexx and Monroe.

Insiders have suggested that the couple reached the difficult decision to go their separate ways, with Ms Vincent now channelling her energy into her career and her children.

Neither Ms Vincent nor Mr Bryan has publicly addressed the reports of their separation.

A source told The Sun: “Brooke and Kean have decided to split but are co-parenting their sons together.

“It wasn’t an easy decision for them to make and they are both trying to navigate this new path together.”

The insider also revealed that Ms Vincent has immersed herself in work and socialising with friends, while Mr Bryan has similarly been keeping busy.

“They had been together for ten years so it was always going to take time to adjust. Right now their focus is on their sons and keeping normality for them,” the source added.

After such a lengthy relationship, those close to the pair say both are determined to ensure stability for Mexx and Monroe as they adapt to their new circumstances as co-parents.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend, Ms Vincent appeared to hint at the change in her personal life through a post on Instagram.

Sharing a collection of photographs from August, she captioned them: “August…somehow an ending and a beginning all at once.”

Professionally, Ms Vincent has been throwing herself into her latest acting role.

She has joined the cast of Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, where she plays a character called Abigail Matthews.

The move marks a fresh chapter for the actress, who spent fifteen years on Coronation Street before departing the ITV programme in 2019.

Ms Vincent has also endured a difficult period in her personal life beyond the reported split.

Towards the close of last year, she suffered the loss of her grandmother, an experience she described as deeply painful.

Speaking on the Live, Laugh, Luke podcast, she credited her sons with helping her cope during that period of mourning.

“It’s so hard. Luckily for me I had the kids. I wasn’t allowed to lie in bed and cry because I had to get up and take them to school and mask it a little bit,” she explained.

She also spoke candidly about processing her grief, saying: “Because I wanted there to be a time when I’m drunk, when I’m sober and her song will come on and it doesn’t feel like someone has punched me in the throat.”
