Former Gogglebox favourite and Celebrity Big Brother star George Gilbey has died following a “work accident” at the age of 40, according to reports.

The Essex born reality TV star rose to fame when he and his parents made their debut in the second series of Gogglebox in 2013.

The family left the television-based show when Gilbey signed up to take part in the 2014 Celebrity Big Brother series on Channel 5.

His mother, Linda, and late father Pete joined the show again in 2016. The latter died of cancer in 2021.

Fellow Celebrity Big Brother star Ricci Guarnaccio took to social media to pay tributes to his former co-star.

He wrote: “‘Breaks my heart but George Gilbey you are well and truely going to be missed my friend.” (sic)
