Perrie Edwards flooded with support as Little Mix star shares heartbreaking post after death of beloved dog
Perrie Edwards has revealed the death of her beloved Pomeranian, Hatchi, paying an emotional tribute to the dog she shared 14 years of her life with.
The 33-year-old Little Mix singer took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the loss, describing Hatchi as “one of the greatest gifts I have ever been given.”
Edwards originally adopted the Pomeranian in 2012 alongside then-partner and former One Direction member Zayn Malik.
In a lengthy post addressed to her 18 million followers, the singer called Hatchi her “fur baby,” her “little shadow,” and her “companion,” saying he had been “such a huge part” of her life.
She accompanied the tribute with a collection of photographs and videos spanning Hatchi’s life, with several featuring her four-year-old son Axel alongside the dog.
Ms Edwards wrote that Hatchi had been by her side “through every chapter and every milestone” of her life, “through the happiest moments and the hardest ones.”
The Pomeranian accompanied her on Little Mix tours, joined family holidays to Portugal, and, as she put it, “sat in the best restaurants eating steak like the little prince you were.”
“Wherever life took me, you were part of it,” she added. “I hope you knew how loved you were, Hatchi.”

Expressing her grief, the singer said: “My heart is completely broken knowing I won’t see your little face in the morning, hear your footsteps, cuddle you or have you following me around anymore. The house and my heart already feel emptier without you.”
She signed off by calling Hatchi her “best little friend,” adding that “a piece of my heart went with you.”
Condolences poured in from fellow celebrities and fans alike. Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirlwall responded simply with: “Oh Hatchi.”
Former Love Island contestant Chris Hughes described the news as “so sad,” while model Lauren Pope offered her sympathies, telling Edwards she was “so sorry” and sending “lots of love.”

Among the fan responses, one user wrote: “Absolutely heartbroken. You gave him the best 14 years. We all loved Hatchi as if he was our own.”
Hatchi’s health had been declining for some time. Ms Edwards had acknowledged back in 2024 that her dog was “a bit poorly,” attributing his condition to “getting a bit old.”
The Pomeranian was 14 at the time of his death.
Ms Edwards first found fame in 2011 when she won The X Factor as part of Little Mix, alongside Ms Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh Anne Pinnock.
The group went on to score five UK number one singles and a chart-topping album, with hits including Wings, Black Magic and Shout Out To My Ex.
Ms Nelson departed in December 2020, after which the remaining trio continued performing until entering a hiatus in 2022.
