Spice Girls fans ‘so disappointed’ as they share announcement after reunion tease: ‘Pretty underwhelmed’
The Spice Girls have left fans bitterly disappointed after revealing an announcement they teased earlier this week.
One Wednesday, The Spice Girls threw their fanbase into a state of collective excitement by dropping a mysterious teaser video on their social media channels.
The clip, shared across Instagram and X, contained no explanation of what is to come, only a date and time: 10 September 2026, 2pm BST.
The teaser was shot on the steps of London’s St Pancras Renaissance Hotel – the very location where the group filmed their iconic 1996 Wannabe music video.

It concludes with an intriguing instruction: “No sheet music required. But you will need a vinyl or CD player.”
The reference to physical media formats immediately fuelled speculation about a possible reunion.
It was confirmed on Thursday though that instead they had unveiled The Singles Collection, a comprehensive box set bringing together every single the group ever released alongside never-before-heard recordings from their archive.

Arriving on November 6, the collection commemorates three decades since the release of their landmark debut album Spice.
However, some were convinced who had been convinced the news would be of a reunion and have taken to social media to express their outrage.
One penned on X: “So disappointed with the spice girls announcement.”
“Not gonna lie, pretty underwhelmed by the Spice Girls announcement – we want a tour!!” another demanded.

“Huge disappointment that the Spice Girls aren’t coming back again,” another echoed.
Someone else shared: “I literally just completed my spice girls singles collection last year so I hope there’s some nice new remixes on here that aren’t on the original singles haha.” (sic)
It will be available as two limited-edition 14-disc sets: one on seven-inch colour vinyl and one on CD, each housed in a handbag-inspired box with a white holographic gloss and matt black foil finish.
The release represents the first time all of the group’s singles have been gathered in one place, spanning iconic tracks such as Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life and Goodbye.
Fresh messages from all five members, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell-Horner, accompany both editions.
Among the previously unheard material is Do You Think About Me, described as one of the band’s earliest demos, which has remained in the vault for roughly 30 years.
The CD edition goes further with an exclusive bonus disc containing four unreleased demos drawn from the group’s archive.
Bonus discs for Step To Me and Tell Me Why are also included, with the CD version amassing 160 tracks in total when B-sides and rare remixes are counted.
For vinyl enthusiasts, the seven-inch edition marks the first time every Spice Girls single has been pressed on colour wax, with each of the 14 records paired with its original lead B-side in replica artwork sleeves.
Both sets come with five collectible art cards and a 30th anniversary acrylic charm.
