BBC EastEnders stars rally around Danny Walters as actor announces ‘special’ family news
Danny Walters, best known for his role in EastEnders, has revealed he is now engaged to Maddi Faircloth, his partner of five years.
The actor popped the question in a romantic beachside setting at the Mayia Exclusive Resort & Spa on the Greek island of Rhodes.
A photograph shared to his Instagram account shows Mr Walters down on one knee beside a candlelit dinner table, with hanging lights and additional candles lining the pathway to create an intimate atmosphere.
Captioning the post, the actor wrote: “Guess you’re stuck with me now,” while also expressing gratitude to the resort for helping arrange the proposal.

The announcement prompted an outpouring of well-wishes from his former soap colleagues.
Aaron Thiara commented: “Beaming for you both brother.”
Danielle Harold added: “Ahhh, so beautiful. Congratulations to you both.”
Several other EastEnders alumni also offered their congratulations in the comments section, among them Molly Rainford, Clair Norris, Diane Parish, Emma Barton and Jaden Ladega.

Meanwhile, Shona McGarty and Mazz Murray opted to express their delight through strings of emojis.
Fans of the star were also quick to share their well-wishes for the happy couple.
One fan said: “Omg congratulations to you both, gorgeous couple.”
Another added: “Ahh that’s quality!”
“Congratulations to you both,” declared a third.
Someone else penned: “Over the moon for you both!”
Mr Walters portrayed Keanu Taylor in the BBC soap from 2017 to 2020, before reprising the role for a further run between 2022 and 2023.
Among his most notable storylines were an age-gap romance with Sharon Watts and his character’s murder by The Six, a plot that was teased an entire year before it aired.

The actor previously acknowledged how challenging it was to guard that secret, saying: “I feel like I’ve been very deceitful to my friends and my family (laughs) and have made many excuses!
“But, I wanted the storyline to have as much impact as possible for the audience.”
Away from Albert Square, the couple welcomed their daughter Autumn in March 2025.
The news comes amid a string of baby announcements involving current and former EastEnders stars throughout 2026.

Toby Alexander-Smith, who played Gray Atkins in the BBC soap, welcomed his second child with wife and Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh in March.
More recently, Sophie Khan Levy, who portrayed Priya Nandra-Hart, announced her real-life pregnancy in September after filming her final scenes for the soap ahead of her upcoming due date.
Former EastEnders actress Shana Swash, best known for playing Demi Miller, announced in June that she is expecting her second child, with the baby due to arrive in December.
Matt Lapinskas, who portrayed Anthony Moon, also shared baby news in August, revealing that he and wife Karina Hind are expecting their first child together in early 2027.
